Hertfordshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust (HPfT) required a solution for the installation and management of an internet service for patients at a number of their sites across Hertfordshire. The requirements were simple, to provide a managed, filtered internet connection that users could access securely via a trust provided PC. WiFi SPARK was chosen to implement the system that granted users access via a pre-printed voucher. The result was an easy to use service where users entered voucher details to grant a few hours access at a time. Behind the scenes WiFi SPARK offers control over which vouchers can be used, time of access, bandwidth available and full data retention on voucher usage. In addition to this, the service is filtered so that content deemed unsuitable is simply not available, ensuring correct use of Trust facilities.
