Job Description 

Agile Coach


WiFi SPARK is the leading provider of managed internet access services including WiFi, media and software solutions. Our customers represent many different sectors within the UK including healthcare, transport, retail, leisure and local authorities. This role replaces a contracting role within the development team reporting directly to development manager. You will be based in our HQ in Exeter and will take overall responsibility for the adoption and continued improvement of agile methodologies within the various development teams. You will work with our teams on projects designing our market-leading applications.

As an Agile Coach, you’ll need to have strong communication and interpersonal skills, since you’ll be working closely with employees across the entire company, including leadership. You will act as the Agile champion in WiFi SPARK.

At the team level, the you will provide guidance, coaching, support and facilitation, and helps remove any obstacles that teams may encounter along the way.

At the individual level, the Agile Coach master supports individual efforts, addresses any issues that arise, and removes obstacles to help individuals be focused and productive.

As a seasoned Agile Coach/Scrum Master, you will have an excellent track record of working in fast-moving environment employing modern tools and techniques to empower the team to deliver first class products.

Duties and responsibilities

  • Subject-matter expert on Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, Scrumban …)
  • Define with each teams the best way to use Jira tickets and workflows
  • Continuously improve Agile process to fit the organisation and circumstances
  • Maintain JIRA tickets and workflows as one of our JIRA Administrator
  • Enforce the agreed way of using Jira tickets and workflows
  • Maintain and build upon current reports
  • Help unblock other team members
  • Promote the benefits of Agile methodologies at all levels

 

Skills and experience

  • At least 3 years of experience in a professional Scrum Master or Agile Coach role
  • Up to date knowledge on agile best practices
  • Previous experience overseeing team transformation from waterfall to agile
  • Expert in creating reports to understand where to concentrate our agile transformation effort
  • Ability to understand the level of agile maturity of the company, team members as well as leadership layer to plan the next steps. (Shu Ha Ri)
  • Good time-management skills
  • Strong team and project management skills
